Our Collections

The Winchelsea and District Historical Society Library has a broad spectrum of material documenting the history of the area from its early exploration and settlement to the present. We preserve and make accessible one of the largest archival repositories of manuscript, printed and visual materials with the Surf Coast Shire, including more than:

• 8,000 digital images
• 10,000 photographs in 50 visual collections
• 200 processed manuscript collections
• 100 cataloged maps
• 50 broadsides
• 100 pieces of sheet music
• 600 cataloged printed items
• 2500 artifacts
• 60 paintings
