Charles Beal (1821-88) and Prosper Nicholas Trebeck (1822-1904) built the Barwon Inn at the river crossing called "Barwon" (now Winchelsea). This was the first building at Barwon, and a store also operated at this site. 1867 Barwon Hotel.
